Cellphones are great, because
they are easy to carry with you everywhere. but this convenience also creates
some major risks for your cellphone like drowned cell phone. You can kill your
cellphone easily by sending it through your washing machines cycle.
And most manufacturer warranties
not cover this problem. So its all up to you how you make your phone live
again. You can use these simple stpes to confirm working condition of your cellphone!!!
- Remove your phone from water as fast as you can.
As soon
as phone goes to water, water leaks through its cracks and ports to damage it.
Sooner you take it away from water less damage will be to its functionability.
- Take out the battery immediately.
Water
damages battery of cellphone, eventually making it of no use. If you immediately
take your phone out of water and if it is still on, don’t try to switch it off
first. First remove the battery. Don’t try to switch it on if it is already
off.
- Take out the SIM card.
Your
next priority should be to take out the SIM card. Most simcards store phone
numbers and other data.
- Submerge the phone in fresh water.
Sometimes
it is possible that corrosive residue may form in phone due to salt water
contact. It is always better idea to submerge phone in fresh water to wash off
this residue. But remember to remove battery and sim first.
- Open up case to remove water.
To
remove as much water as possible from inside the phone, open up the case and
all ports, hatches. It will create many holes to push water away. After this
you should use a vacuum to pull liquid from phones interior, this will force
water out. Be sure to use cool air source, hot air may damage phone. Use a
drying agent if possible or you can put phone and battery in plastic bag and
bury it in a bowl of uncooked rice.
- Time to test phone.
Test
phone by swathing it on after 48 to 72 hours of drying procedure, if it is
still dead, you may need to replace the battery. If your phone malfunctions
during first test , let it dry for some more time and test again, it may take a
week for your phone to dry out.
What
should you avoid
- Don’t ever try to dry your phone using a hair dryer or
a oven, or any other nonsense method. That can be dangerous for phone and
your safety.
- Don’t use alcohol to wash phone, it can damage glue
that holds electronic component in the phone.
- If you want to avail a warranty then avoid telling
manufacturer, they will not accept this!!
Always take care of your phone, avoid carrying it when there is a risk of dropping it in water.
